Is Selim Charcoal a manufacturer or a trader?
We are a manufacturer, not a trader. We have produced charcoal in New Damietta, Egypt since 1990 and ship directly from our factory to the buyer's warehouse.
Which types of charcoal do you export?
We export natural lump charcoal (orange wood, casuarina and mixed hardwood), briquette charcoal (coconut shisha cubes, hexagonal BBQ and heating briquettes, plus rectangular and cylindrical shapes) and firewood. See the full range on our products page.
Which countries do you export to?
We export to Europe, the Middle East, the USA and Canada, and keep a warehouse in Oman for regional supply. Contact us to confirm your destination and arrange the shipment.
What is Selim's production capacity?
The factory runs 6 production lines and 4 warehouses, with a capacity of 200 tons per month.
What sizes of shisha charcoal cubes are available?
We produce coconut charcoal cubes in 22, 25, 26 and 27 mm. The 27 mm size is made for the European market, especially Germany. Other sizes are available on request.
Do you offer private label packaging?
Yes. We pack to your specification in weights from 250 g to 20 kg, under the Selim brand or your own. See our packaging options.
What is the difference between lump charcoal and briquettes?
Natural lump charcoal is carbonized wood in irregular pieces, such as orange wood and casuarina, and is mostly used for grilling. Briquette charcoal is pressed into uniform shapes such as cubes and hexagons, and is used for shisha, grilling and heating.

Can charcoal be used indoors?
No. Charcoal must only be used outdoors or in well-ventilated spaces, never inside closed rooms, tents or vehicles, because of the risk of carbon monoxide.
